The seeking never stops, but the journey is a continual flow of images to be captured and shared. Immersed in the places, events and people who become my vision and help shape who I am, my images savor the deeply emotional and spiritual responses that drew me to fire at those precise moments. They also share a very personal sense of place, to which all who would see are welcome.

The power of photography is to communicate the special way in which one human being has seen the world to another. I use photography to express myself artistically and to show the rest of humanity my view of this world. I very much enjoy taking western and rodeo pictures, but the inevitability of cities, suburbs, industry, agribusiness and the overwhelming infrastructure of it all has taken over much of Albertas once extensive rangelands. The prairies I have come to know is a long way off from the interpretations of small town simple life and wheat fields sold to the rest of the world. The small towns I have come to know are rough, gritty and monochromatic, but it is here that I feel most connected. While some may see this as cityscape photography, others may see this as fine art, but my main objective is to reveal urban lifestyles, from the glitz to the ghetto in new and inspiring ways and truly show the power of photography.

From the start of this project it has been my desire to portray both big cities and small towns, to capture its dramatic grandeur on film. To do this I have taken a less cinematic but likewise compelling approach, responding to the austere beauty around me. My personal style is my motto in photography, that being its the little things in life that matter the most. Most people take obvious shots of famous landmarks and symbols, and scenes that look like pictures we have seen before. When I see those pictures I think, been there, done that and I wanted to do something new, if you look longer and harder at your subjects it will almost always leads to richer and more creative pictures. I try to look for the smaller scenes within scenes that can be isolated to create a mini composition. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.
